Mountains Upon Mountains
The mountains are always underneath you. You are always in them.

It’s the song of the summer of 2011, which is hard for me to grasp, even now, having listened to the entire “Born to Run” album countless times and knowing that I will likely listen to it countless times more before the summer is fully out. And probably even after still.
I am currently reading a book called, “Create Dangerously: The Immigrant Artist at Work” by Haitian-born writer Edwidge Danticat and I am loving it. In addition to the story-telling, Danticat speaks about the importance of breaking silences, self doubt, and writing through fear.
I am sat here slowly sipping from a small glass of hard cider that I made myself. Is it truly good, or is it good because I made it? Hard to say as I am not really a connoisseur of fine ciders. Even still, I made alcohol. I have more (and varied types) brewing as I write this.
